Sleeping in Bum Land - New Novel of Survival

There's a brand new book not even on the shelves yet entitled, "Sleeping In Bum Land," that tests the courage of one young man's quest for survival on the streets of Los Angeles for a whole year. Often times it is imagined from the back of one's mind what a life in the gutter would be like, in this case, I submitted to the raw eyed perspective of life as a tramp, showerless, penniless, at times naive and fraught with a new culture whose daily life stays between the sand and the ocean.

Such a book was created in the form of a journal, un planned-all real, unveiling the whole process of dropping out of society to write in California that many have vowed to discover, yet from my pen I expressed absolute truth on the page, splattered with weather. So how did I decide to write such a book, well I just got my ticket to L.A. to be on a magazine crew, during this month of drudgery and competition; I had suddenly been ditched on the side of the road. The writing in my journal captures the sudden outburst of the senses underlined by vampires, the city streets, homelessness, and instinct.

Take the lawless style of Burroughs; or Kerouac, make a potent blend that ferments and ages and you will then come up with a name for such a style in Blood Homeless. I end up meeting a vampire when scrambling around for a cheap hostel with nothing but a sack on my back and at my most vulnerable state he takes me with a deal that we will be business partners. Our endeavors lead us to important places where I meet a series of characters like Lukaword, Jean Grinaire, and Ulysses, The Go-Go Dancer, Gus, Whisky Dan; that I learn from how to live on the streets. My most memorable spot it sleeping in a gutted out cabinet that once served upon a dolly but now provides shelter out of the rain. The beach is where my moments consist of overall, from the picturesque sunsets, to the surreal theatrical scene that is the boardwalk, and the culture of the beach bums and "hillies."

During such first rare moments on the street I capture an exciting freedom that goes along with just landing on your own in the raw. The climax comes when I fall in love with Violette and live half my life in a VW van in many street parking nights all over Venice, with a dream of traveling up north together. Inevitable I learn the hard way about the down to life true grit of what surrendering your possessions and sanity to endure long distance homelessness means, in this getting hit by a car and punched in the face, and tossed down to the challenging gutter that seems to impossible to rise up from. This is Blood Homelessness, no walk in the park, yet a nice fuck to the senses, and joy ride through the poetic, ultimately such a book could kill someone to write and it nearly did. "Gorgeous women seem to always be naked around the corner from a feast where royal sand castle men have their way with her, rubbing a light meat marinade on her tits. How amusing it is as a bum to fart in a cozy room of food, and belch as a beast."

5 Keys To A Successful Ezine

There are 5 basic keys you need for your ezine to be successful and here they are though not necessarily in this order.

1- Hosting

You need good reliable hosting for your website. You don't want to lose subscribers because your site is always down. Not only that... it's unprofessional.

Why should someone listen to what you have to say in your ezine when you can't even get the basics of having your website operational?

2- Autoresponders

You want to automate everything. An autoresponder will send a confirmation email when someone subscribes. It will handle removal requests and if it has a broadcast feature you can even send out your ezine through it.

You may need multiple autoresponders as you will find that there will be many things you want automated such as when you are offering a free report, or confirmation of an ad someone placed in your ezine... the list can go on and on.

3 - Tracking

You may want to track the ads you place when promoting your ezine to find out what ad(s) pull well for you and which don't. You don't want to be wasting your time on ads that don't work. When you find an ad that pulls well... go all out on it.

4 - Products

As you start to grow your ezine and build a relationship with your subscribers you need to offer them products. After all... you are in this to make money.

You can create your own products around your list, get resale rights to an existing product to offer to your list or you can join an affiliate program.

Now, I admit... 1-4 can get pretty expensive especially if you are on a tight budget.

TIP #1: You can go here and get all of what I just mentioned in one package and it's super cheap.

5 - Leads

Every ezine no matter how big or small needs no or low cost ways of attracting more subscribers.

You can advertise your ezine by submitting to ezine directories, announcement lists, by writing articles, or doing joint ventures such as ad swaps just to name a few. The problem is... all of this can become time consuming.

TIP #2: There is a software that will automate your entire submission process to everything I just mentioned.

TIP #3: There is a site that will bring you new subscribers for only 5 minutes of work.

There you have it. By no means is this a complete list but by getting the basics down and following the TIP's I just mentioned, you are well on your way to a profitable ezine.

Running in Process for the Polini Liquid Cooled Replica Minimoto

One of the most common questions we get asked after a purchase of a Polini 911 replica is how to run it in!

Here's a quick mini moto info guide to help you.

The Running in procedure

This bike has a very close tolerance high performance 2-stroke engine. Therefore, you must run the engine in extremely carefully to get the best from it. If you sense the engine is getting tight e.g. not idling properly, you must switch-off & let it cool down whilst carefully turning over on the pull start. Avoid this situation at all costs IT IS DAMAGING YOUR ENGINE. If it occurs, you are either being to aggressive with the break-in, or you have not got the cooling system functioning correctly e.g. air-lock.

How to avoid an air-lock?

As this is a liquid cooled bike. When you fill with pure coolant you must ensure the radiator and coolant system are free from all air locks. In order to do this pour in the coolant until it starts dribbling from the hole in the top of the radiator, remove bleed pipe whilst priming the cooling system by turning the back wheel. You may also need to pressurise the system to force out the air locks by blowing into filler or 'de-gas' bottle.

What is the ratio of petrol to oil?

Initially you need to use a break-in mixture of 25:1 then once its nicely run in you can make your mix 40:1. This will help reduce the amount of black smoke and make it a leaner mix.

Only use high quality synthetic 2 stroke oil which is available in most motorcycle and motocross shops.

Taking it easy!

Although the thing you've been waiting for is to get your bike up and running, get it into full throttle and just speed away, this is the one thing you should never do.

If it is necessary to have your bike running on its stand for prolonged periods, rev the engine occasionally & allow the back wheel to spin and drive the coolant pump. This will allow the coolant to circulate and prevent your bike overheating. The same is true if you are motionless for any length of time. Lift the rear wheel & rev the engine.

Getting ready to go.

For the 1st 2 full tanks of fuel, do not allow the engine into the power band. For the 3rd to 5th tank, only very brief periods of either full throttle (not max engine speed) or a few seconds in the power band. A full 5 tanks of fuel are recommended before using the bike in anger. You have been told!!

Most important about the Polini 911 Replica minimoto is that it is not a toy and the bike should not be used by children under the age of 14. Make sure you use safety equipment and have experience of mini motorbikes before you attempt to ride this.

Driving Vans

A van is used to transport goods and groups of people. Vans are known as Light Commercial Vehicles. Vans are usually box-shaped vehicles with have four wheels. Some newer models are rounded. Vans have been around since the 1960s, and the very first van was available in United States. Vans are larger than cars and are smaller than caravan or trucks. These vans are available in different shapes and sizes, ranging from the classic version of Tiny Mini to the five- meter-long variants of the Mercedes Sprinter van. For some families, a car is simply not enough, and a van is a better choice, since it is able to transport more people and goods easily.

A Road Trek camper van has many benefits, such as a kitchen, bathroom, shower, changing room, bedroom, relaxation area, entertainment area, and spare room, and is fully self contained. Avoid overloading the van. Luggage should be stored evenly throughout the interior of the van and should not obstruct any views for the driver. Now, another shape of van has been introduced, which has a taller cab and bed than a pickup and uses the same style frame and power train, resulting in the basic van having a higher center of gravity than the similarly-loaded pickup from which is derived. The suspension is very high, because of a high weight capacity of fifteen people.

In Asian countries, vans are used for transportation purposes. They are used for local transport in every city of developing countries. The bench seats allow passengers to slide if safety belts are not used. Only front seat passengers use safety belts. However the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has determined that drivers who use seat belts are about four times more likely to survive in rollover crashes. Safety should be followed, and rules about safety in the van must be acknowledged before traveling in ten-to-fifteen passenger van.

If you want to purchase your own van, there are some instructions you must keep in mind to purchase a great model van. It is important to know about the capacity of the engine of van. A more powerful engine will be more fuel efficient. Comfortable seats, a strong body and high- quality tires with long-run capacity are also important points to see before deciding to purchase. It is also very important to look for bumps around the perimeter of the van to see whether other electrical features are working or not. Also, look at the air conditioner and turn signal.

Keep these tips in mind, and you can get a great van for your family. You can see the same qualities that different van manufacturing companies offer in their vans, but there may be differences in their results and the performance of the engine. Also, the most important thing is price, which can differ from company to company. You can purchase vans from Nomad, Chevrolet, Super Carry or you can get a Citroen van or a Dodge. Some famous companies are Toyota, Suzuki, Honda, Nissan, and Mazda, Mitsubishi and Mercedes Benz are making high-quality vans all over the world.

5 Tips on How to Raise Bees

Raising bees should be considered as something beneficial to a number of aspects. First, it could be a very good choice for a hobby which can be developed to a profitable small to medium business. Producing quality honey and sell them to a targeted market is something very feasible to accomplish.

Bees are wonderful creatures that play an important role in the pollination of crops. Thus bees are indispensable to ensure a successful harvesting of a farm crops. It is the fact that bee population in some region is declining, hence threatening the supply of crops. Playing this role, bees are also useful to many other plants. Raising bees could be a form of social responsibility as a contribution from your side that aims to keeping nature balance.

Honey and bees have been proven by the medical profession to possess therapeutic values. Honey has been known since ancient time as a remedy for many diseases and to strengthen body immunity. Many natural therapists use bee stings as a cure for some specific illness.

If you find yourself interested in raising bees, here are 5 tips on how to raise bees in a proper and right way.

#1 - Get your beekeeping supplies. Get the things you need to start with, especially those to protect yourself against bee stings. You need a beekeeper suit to cover your whole body while working with your bees. This suit includes a full length jumper, a hat with a veil that can be zipped onto the jumper, gloves and boots. To manage the honey combs in the beehives you may need a hive tool.

A beekeeping smoker is also needed to calm the bees. Smoke creates a feeding effect to the bees, which then overfeed themselves making it hard for them to sting. Smoke also masks the smell of alarming venoms produced by the guard bees, avoiding the bees to go wild.

#2 - Prepare your hives. Hives are the homes of your bees, so prepare it thoroughly. These are actually your 'honey plants' where the bees store honey in combs. The number of hives to start with will depend on your purpose. You may need only one or two hives if you decide beekeeping for a hobby. But as a small business you may need at least 10 hives to start with.

What you need to set up your hive is a brood chamber which is the place where the queen bee lays eggs and about five frames which are the place where the bee workers build honeycombs to keep their honey. It is good if you buy one or two extra frames just to anticipate the bees swarming.

Place the hives at the right location. This should be a spot with a study ground where people will not obstruct the 'traffic' of the bees into the hives to store honey. It should be kept away from matters that might agitate the bees to sting such us vibrations and loud noises.

It would not be necessary to place the hives near pollinating crops since the bees are able to fly miles away to collect nectar and pollen. Remember to face the hive opening to the east or south, so that it could be warmed by the morning sunlight.

#3 - Get your bees. Make sure that you get them from a reputable breeding source. Buy the European bees strain and avoid the African bees which are known to be highly aggressive and are easily agitated. Buy a colony starter that includes a queen, workers and drones.

The main task of a queen is laying eggs as long as she could, while the poor drone has only one thing to do, mating the queen. The queen will then kill the drone as soon after the mating. Other things such us collecting nectar, guarding the hive, cleaning and feeding the larvae is done by the diligent worker bee.

There will be a necessity to replace the queen bee if she dies. A queen can also leave the hive with a swarm and need to be replaced. This swarming could happen 2 - 3 times during summer. You have two options in getting a new queen. Buy one or you can create one by starting a new colony. In the later case you need to take a frame that contains workers and larvae, and then the workers will eventually feed a selected larva with nutrient-rich food to create their new queen.

#4 - Get your bees start working. To get the bees on working you need to feed them with bees supplement in springtime. You can feed them with pollen supplements as well as sugar and water. The objective is to give them strength prior to the blooming of trees and flowers.

Feeding them with sugar and water also allows them to start building up honey in their honeycombs. As soon as they go out of the hives, they will be able to find the way of their routes of pollen within several days.

You should make a frequent check whether your bees are in good shape and well established in their hive. Remember that during the first year of honey production, the bees need the honey for their own requirement. Hence you should harvest only a little amount of honey and leave a sufficient amount as storage for winter.

#5 - Harvest the honey. Very little could be harvested in the first year, but afterward you can start harvesting substantial amount of honey. Harvesting is indeed the best part of beekeeping.

Check all the honey-filled supers and remove them from the hive at any time to get the honey extracted from the combs. Remove the rubbish or dead bees from the honey comb, and then put back empty frames as replacements.

You will be able to sell the honey in two forms; the liquid honey and the pieces of honey comb. The liquid honey is produced by the mean of a centrifuge to extract honey from the honey combs. While the second form is the original honey comb pieces made by the bees. This form provides some enjoyment to some people who are after the natural honey flavor.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier, which I should address to beginners, is to get a handbook or guide or introductory book. This will provide you with the necessary information on how to manage your hive properly prior to purchasing your bee colony. Happy beekeeping!

Training A Yearling

A youngster is called a yearling from 1st January of the year after his birth. Remember therefore that he may still be very young if born late (ie November) in the previous year, but still called a yearling - hence their level of maturity will depend upon how much you can do with them.

So, in this article we're going to cover what you can expect from a Yearling, and to be clear I am referring to a foal that has been weaned and is actually between 6-9 months old.

A reasonably well developed, mature yearling can be lunged a little, although only for a few minutes on each rein. As the joints are not yet fully formed at this stage, there is an obvious risk of injury if you do too much at this stage. An experience trainer will know how much to ask of a yearling or whether to delay the first lessons on the lunge until the horse is 2 or 3 years old. So if you are uncertain, seek advice.

Thoroughbreds destined to race on the flat are broken in during their second winter - while still yearling's. Many of them are lunged, long reined, backed and ridden and have started cantering before their second birthday. Most horses cannot be broken as yearling's, however because they are insufficiently developed. A racehorse can be reared with a view to racing at 2 years, but even then he may be too 'backward' to be trained for racing until he is a year older - they are all individuals and have to be treated as such.

The process must be carefully planned otherwise only the really tough ones will survive hard training without some damage.

All yearlings however should learn to obey your hand and voice and to tie up quietly. Before going onto lunge them, you should be sure to complete your horse's training 'in hand' so that he obeys voice commands and light hand signals on the lead rein.

By now he should walk and trot beside you without pulling against the rope. He should also stop when you ask him to by saying 'halt' or 'whoa' (only use one or the other of these commands, not both, otherwise you will confuse him) and should walk on and trot on when you ask him. He should stand still until you ask him to move on. If you press your outside hand on his flank and say 'walk on' he will not be surprised when you use your leg aids later on to give a similar signal.

What you have to be aware of is that all during this time your horse is still growing and developing. As such his behavior will also change, so don't be surprised if exercises and lessons he performed when he was much younger, even suckling perhaps, no longer work. His rate of growth will show you how much he is changing, and you must expect his behavior to change too, which is why you must make sure that you finish his hands on and voice training properly before you move on to anything more complex and challenging.

Remember the main schooling aim for a yearling is primarily to establish the relationship between you and your horse. With this in mind the important thing to bear in mind is that what you do with him is not as important as the fact that you do something with him at all - trying to do every exercise perfectly and overstraining him to do this is not the objective - working with him gently to get him used to you and used to doing some training is more important than the technicalities of how well he does the exercises.

What Is Earth Day?

Even though it's been around since the 1970's many people really do not know anything about Earth Day. They have no idea what Earth Day is or through it how many accomplishments we have made to make our world a better and safer place for all of us to live. San Francisco has a long-standing reputation of being the city with more smog than any other city in America. In order to address the problem of pollution, the first Earth Day occurred on March 21, 1970 in San Francisco.

Also in 1970, President Richard Nixon appointed the Environmental Protection Agency to oversee environmental issues such as creating more environmentally friendly low emission vehicles. It is hard to imagine that in 1972 only 36 percent of our nation's lakes and streams were safe to fish and swim in. Today more than 60 percent of our streams and lakes are fit for swimming and fishing.

In 1974, Congress passed the Safe Drinking Water Act, which enabled the Environmental Protection Agency to oversee municipal water supplies. This was done to ensure that the water we drink is safe for consumption.

Since the creation of Earth Day, millions of people around the world have done things everyday to conserve our resources and make the world a better place for all of us. Many states and counties have turned to recycling items such as plastic, aluminum, paper, and glass that can be remanufactured into other products. Many counties also have recycling facilities where individuals can drop off items to be recycled. Our landfills are full of waste and recycling helps them not to become overfilled. Not only are we reducing the amount of garbage in our landfills, but we are also creating a better world for our children.

Liposuction - What You Should Know

Liposuction And Weight Loss

If you're thinking that liposuction is a great way to lose weight, forget about it. Liposuction isn't about weight loss at all. It's all about sculpturing and contouring the body to remove excess fat deposits that aren't willing to go away with diet and exercise no matter how hard you try. It's about looking good in that swimsuit AFTER you've lost all the weight that you're going to lose.

Women love liposuction, but men dabble in it too. Women tend to have it done on their abdomen, thighs, knees, hips, chin or neck while men usually treat their neck, chest, abdomen, and "love handles."

In all but a very few isolated instances liposuction is strictly cosmetic which means your insurance company won't be footing the bill for your new belly or butt. Your insurance company MAY get involved, however, if your treatment is prescribed for certain medical conditions including enlarged male breasts in men and certain fat deposits, such as "buffalo hump" which is caused by a hormone imbalance.

How Liposuction Works

Liposuction is a procedure whereby fatty tissue is literally sucked from under the skin using a hollow wand which is attached to a suction device. Local anesthetics and other compounds including saline, and epinephrine are administered to control swelling and bleeding.

Once the patient is prepared the doctor inserts the wand, called a "cannula" through small incisions which are made in the skin. They push and pull the wand through the fatty cells causing them to break up and to be suctioned off along with other body fluids. That's about as complicated as liposuction gets from the actual procedural point of view.

Different Types Of Liposuction

There are several different types of liposuction procedures in use. Each procedure is based upon the amount of fluid which is (or isn't) injected during the procedure.

Dry Liposuction uses no fluid and is rapidly falling from favor. Wet Liposuction is where the doctor injects six to eight ounces of ephinephrine. Superwet Liposuction uses the most fluid. Basically, the more fluid that is injected during the procedure, the less blood that is lost. The Risks

While the liposuction procedure is relatively safe when performed by a Cosmetic or Plastic Surgeon, it is not without its risks and side effects up to, and including, death in very rare instances (about 20 out of 100,000). Infections have been reported in some cases as well as "seroma" which is a pooling or oozing of body fluid.

Swelling, bruising and locally painful areas are almost a guaranteed side effect of liposuction and you can expect to lose a week or more from work during recovery. In almost all instances the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and you'll be home the same day.

An unexpected side effect of liposuction is that the fat can return and, often times, it returns to a different area from where it was removed. This is believed to be caused by drops in leptin levels.

Leptin is a hormone that is made in fat. When the levels drop it signals the body to take in more food so that it can increase its fat levels to what it "thinks" is normal. This condition is most likely to occur in people who were overweight to begin with yet still sought liposuction as a hopeful "cure".

Caution

Any doctor can perform liposuction with as little as 30 minutes "training" on the equipment. However, since there is so much at stake, and the health risks are real, you should only consider treatment by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon who has additional specialized training in liposuction.

Understanding The Details Behind Car Insurance Policies

If you own a vehicle, you are surely aware that you need to have a car insurance policy in order to legally be driving on the roads in this country. It doesn't matter if you have never been in an accident or received a ticket. It doesn't matter if you are the safest driver there ever was. It is against the law to be driving without insurance. In fact, even if you have car insurance, you can be ticketed if you do not have proof with you. Since insurance is indeed a fact of life if you want to be a driver, than it is a good idea to understand a little bit about it and why you need it.

Car insurance is an insurance policy that protects you, the people in your car, your car, the other car, and the other people in the car. Car insurance offers you only one type of protection, and that is financial protection. Having an insurance policy will not guarantee that you, your car, or others will not be physically injured or even mentally injured in the event of a car accident, but it does keep the financial damages to a minimum.

The basic idea of car insurance is the same as any other kind of insurance. Basically, you pay money into an insurance policy every month, or every 6 months, or every year. You pay a reasonable sum of money on a regular basis, nothing too expensive, in order to save yourself from very expensive medical and vehicle repair in the event of an accident. If you have been faithful in paying your monthly expenses, then your insurance company will pay for the cost to repair or replace your vehicle when the need arises due to an accident. It is very important that you never miss your insurance payments, as you will not be under the protection of your insurance policy if you get behind.

When you are choosing an insurance policy, you will be able to make some choices that will affect how much money you have to pay monthly or annually. For example, the higher the benefits, the higher the premiums. This means that depending on how much you want the insurance company to cover in the event of an accident, your premiums will go up or down. You can also decide how high you would like your deductible to be. The deductible is basically your portion that must be paid after an accident, in order for your insurance to pick up the remaining cost. The lower your deductible, the higher your premiums, and the higher your deductible, the lower your premiums.

You will also be able to decide whether you want full coverage or just liability. Liability means that your insurance company only covers the other vehicle if you are the cause of an accident, and not yours. If your vehicle still has a loan on it, you will be required to have full coverage on it, as your car is the collateral for the loan and the bank needs to protect its interests. Full coverage is, obviously, more expensive than just liability coverage. Keep all of these things in mind while you are pricing out car insurance, and you will be able to find a policy that is right for you.
